City Tripping #48

The weeks seem to be rapidly disappearing and I can’t believe we are almost in mid October. We’ve just had another whirlwind weekend. Sunday was spent in Hyde Park attempting to see my husband run in his first competitive race since getting meningitis (and having heart surgery) and getting diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He was running for Bloodwise and did extremely well. The Royal Parks half marathon goes through four of London’s Royal Parks so it wasn’t too much of a chore to watch (even with two children) although it would have been good if he’d seen his support team cheering him on!

A couple of weekends ago, we took a trip through another Royal park, Bushy Park to Hampton Court Palace where our daughter checked out a new play space, the Magic Garden. I’ve linked up our experience to this week’s City Tripping which is over with MummyTravels this week. Cathy and I got to catch up over lunch on Monday which was brilliant! Here we are complete with my daughter who clearly found the whole selfie thing a bit confusing!

It meant we actually got to choose our favourite posts from last week face to face. Here’s what we came up with.

Emm in London – Exploring Disused Aldwych Station
Becoming A Traveling Family –  Alki Point Fun in the Sun in West Seattle
Fifi And Hop – The Low Down on Vatican City and Kids
Pigeon Pair and Me – London to Paris in a Day

So, onto this week’s City Tripping. A gentle reminder that this linky is for posts focusing on city travel. We try not to be too strict – one country’s city can be smaller than another country’s town, and we’re as happy with ancient cities as modern day ones, or quiet green corners of a big metropolis – but if your post doesn’t feature a city at all or is talking about escaping the city, there are some other great travel linkys where it’s a better fit. If you’re not sure, drop us a line – we’re very friendly. Honest. Thanks as ever to everyone who does link up – we always love reading your posts, and love the City Tripping community that’s built up.

As well as sharing and commenting on your posts, we will also be pinning them on our City Tripping Pinterest board so if you need any more city inspiration, be sure to check it out and follow our Pinterest board featuring past posts. Let me know if you would like an invite to pin on the board.

What Is City Tripping?

City Tripping is the place to come and link up your city-related travel posts. We want to find out the best of things to do and see in the city, any city in the world, whether you are travelling as a family, a couple or with friends or it’s your home turf. It could be a day out, a review of an attraction, long weekend or sharing your best insider info and hidden gems – as long as it is city-related travel.

How To Join In

– Link up one post – old or new. This week it is over with Cathy at MummyTravels

– Please add the City Tripping badge to the bottom of the post or link back to either Mummytravels.com or Wandermum.co.uk – the badge code is below

– Posts must be about your travel experiences in a city – any city, from reviews of days out to longer breaks.

– Please share the linky love and comment on the two hosts’ linked posts and at least two others which take your fancy, using #citytripping so everyone knows where you’re visiting from

– Every week we will give a mention to the blogger who has commented on the most posts linked up to City Tripping

– Tweet us your links @wander_mum and @mummytravels along with the #citytripping hashtag and we will retweet to our followers

– We’ll be sharing your posts elsewhere on social media – we’d love it if you wanted to follow us there too: Wander Mum (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest) and MummyTravels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest)

– The City Tripping linky will go live every Tuesday morning until 23.55pm on Thursday and will alternate between MummyTravels and myself. We’ll be sharing our favourites every week too.

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.
