Just as the last droplets of cold water dry from the #icebucketchallenge, another online charity trend has begun #wakeupcall. This time selfies are back. It’s great that so much money is being raised for great causes (and celebs are getting out of their comfort zone too). But over in our house the #selfie craze is never ending. My daughter has become obsessed!
It started off with me being able to take some nice pictures of us together. She enjoyed figuring out where parts of her face were – nose, head, mouth – check. I would sometimes indulge her with a selfie session – and to be honest, I quite enjoyed it too. But now, all too frequently, I am getting demands for “picture, mummy”- essentially whenever she spies my phone. Her condition is that I reverse the camera so she can see herself. It has got to a stage where she becomes enraged if I don’t give it to her. Now, I am unable to take a picture of her doing normal, day to day, growing up stuff. No, she INSISTS on doing it herself , “press the button” is the latest phase. The results vary!

Love all the selfies. Definitely the best is the champagne and icecream!! My little ones both love taking selfies with my phone camera. And I find hundreds of them on there if I leave it alone for five minutes! The other one I get on there is loads of photos of iPhone games! This week I have hundreds of photos of dip dap…xx#PocoLo
Thank you! It’s amazing how good they are at using phone cameras – it’s like second nature to them! I’m just afraid she’ll end up deleting a load of important stuff.. Or send random texts. Ah ha. The screen shot photo – love it. X
