Giveaway: Never Get Lost With GPSmyCity Article Apps

How much of a planner are you when it comes to travel? I have to admit I am often a bit last minute and I often spend the journey there, in the car or on the aeroplane, cramming to read up on where we are going and what to do.

A few months ago I tried out the travel app GPSmyCity on my iPhone (also available on IOS) which provides city guides for over 500 cities. I used it during our trip to Copenhagen and was very impressed. Without having to use data roaming, I had a selection of walks I could follow, some information on the local sights and more importantly, the ability to find them and not get lost, through the use of GPS!

Well, GPSmyCity has now taken the app to another level and added a new feature involving travel authors – including yours truly! I am very excited about the partnership. The new feature harnesses the knowledge of travellers who have written or blogged about a city, whether it be one they have visited or their home city. The articles include itineraries, tourist sights and restaurant reviews – to name a few.

The articles are available to download so they can be read offline for free. This means you can read it on your flight or when walking around without being subjected to expensive data roaming charges. Surely I am not the only one who has turned on my 3G to google an attraction when abroad only to get an eye-watering bill a month later! It also means you can learn more without carrying around a chunky guidebook. For someone who travels with children, this is a fantastic, light-weight alternative with a wealth of information literally at your fingertips.

There is also the option to upgrade to create an ‘interactive app’ to pinpoint the attractions mentioned in the article on a GPS map so you can reach your destination without spending ages wandering around trying to find it. For someone who wastes a lot of time doing that, this is an extremely welcome and very helpful feature.

To celebrate my partnership with GPSmyCity, we are offering a free upgrade on my article apps below so that you can see how it works. Just click on the links below and download the GPSmyCity app when prompted. The article will then appear, click ‘upgrade’ and the app will download an offline map and the GPS navigator. They will be free to all my readers until midnight on July 3rd 2016.

So whether you are big on advanced planning or, like me, a bit last minute, you will always be able to find where you are going and get all the city travel information you need from your phone – without incurring data roaming charges.

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.
