In Pictures: What’s So Great About Spring?

It’s officially Summer! I absolutely love this season but Spring is pretty spesh too. There’s something about coming out of the darkness of winter and seeing all the beautiful flowers pop out of their green covers and plant life emerge after hibernating deep in the soil. Apart from the hay fever, it’s pretty near perfect.

When we returned back from our recent trip to Dubai and Oman, it was a delight to see my garden in flower (sometimes it’s the little things, right)? I am incredibly grateful to my neighbour, Laura, for giving my garden a good water (there’s nothing worse than coming home to dead plants). I was especially worried about a recent gift – this beautiful Hydrangea…. but it survived. Hurrah!

Here are some of my favourite things about Spring – in pictures! For more fab photos make sure you follow my Instagram and check out my board on Spring (and more) on Pinterest.

PARK LIFE
Being able to stand around in sunglasses, getting a little bit of warmth on my skin, as she runs around the playground, is far more pleasant than wearing big coats and gloves, freezing my ass off. I actually enjoy being there, rather than attempting to hurry her along and get somewhere warm. And she has a pretty good time too!

MUM AND DAUGHTER TIME OUTSIDE
I love hanging out with this little lady. It’s just a relief to open up the doors during Spring and get out and about. I just love the long days!

LONDON LIFE
I just love my home city when the sun is shining. It has such a fantastic atmosphere and the buildings seem to just glimmer with pride.

EASTER
As Mrs T gets older, Easter gets a bit more exciting. This year she embraced the “choc, choc” (the religious bit will have to wait). Over Easter we went to the Alps for some last season skiing.  For the last couple of days we got a really good taste of Spring, You can read about our trip here.

BIRTHDAY
It’s my hubby’s birthday in April. The last couple of years we have gone out for a lovely lunch, just the two of us, in London to celebrate. This year we went to Masterchef judge Marcus Wareing’s restaurant, Marcus, at the Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge. It was delicious. Thoroughly recommend. We just managed to squeeze down this cake they gave us after we devoured the tasting menu (with wine pairing). After what my hubby has been through during the first part of the year, it was great to get out and celebrate.

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.

  1. Oh wow, what a horrible thing you have had to go through with your family! I am glad that your husband is better now, and you are able to celebrate now together, erring those little treats. It really brings home to you doesn’t it that life is so precious and you can’t take any day granted.

Aside from that – wow what lovely pictures from spring time and aww those gorgeous curls on that little cutie pie 🙂 Lovely 🙂

    1. Thank you! It was a pretty mental start to the year but he’s doing really well now. You are so right – life is so so precious and sometimes it takes something horrible like that to make you realise. So glad you like the pictures and my little lady. Thanks for hosting #mymonthlyroundup x
