What To Pack For Beach: For You & Baby

I love the beach: the sound of the sea, the sand beneath your bare feet and the general feel-good atmosphere. Our hotel is perfectly located just minutes from the beach here in Mykonos. Even so, there is no way we wanted to be trudging back to our accommodation because we’d forgotten something.

So, I have made a list of what to take for a family with a child under one. Hopefully you’ll find it helpful too.

FOR BABY
Nappies inc Swim nappy & swimsuit if water is warm enough
Wipes
Hat
Nappy bags (can also be used as rubbish bags and for wet clothing)
Water in sippy cup
Toys – preferably plastic to prevent being ruined by sand. Remember how many you take so you can count them back at the end.
Push chair (to sleep in)
Sun tan lotion – factor 50
Towels
Bib
Food in a small cool bag
Sterilised bottles/formula if bottle feeding
Nursing blanket if breast feeding (which can double up as a black out cover for naps)
Shade if no umbrellas
Change of clothes
Optional -Baby Bjorn bouncer, inflatables

FOR MUM
Drinking water
Sunglasses
Swimsuit
Dress/kaftan for dining
Flip flops
Book/magazines
Sun tan lotion – including high factor for face and enough for Dad too (am obsessed with getting more wrinkles).
Camera/phone
Money

FOR DAD
Sunglasses
Book/magazines/iPad
Phone
Wallet
T-shirt for dining

Leave nonessential valuables securely locked away in hotel safe

All the above can be put in a nice stylish beach bag – obvs.

Wander Mum

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.
