Throwback Thursday: Ten Years Ago In The Alps

My husband and I in the French Alps 10 years ago This is my husband and I – ten years ago! Don’t we look young? And soooo in love. The year was 2005 and we had recently got together. He had whisked me off to the French Alps after just a couple of months (he was doing his best to impress me)! It would be the first of many trips! Clearly we were ahead of the game with the selfies and thanks to Paul’s long arms he managed to take this photo with my knackered old compact camera. Of course, this was before we all had iPhones, Twitter didn’t exist and I wasn’t even on Facebook! This year we celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary and as part of the celebrations went to the Alps – with our three year old daughter! We have been through a lot in the past ten years but I love taking a trip down memory lane and looking back at our fresh faces (although Paul reckons his face looks fat in this picture). We have certainly come a long way together over the past ten years…here’s to another.

I’m linking up with Helen from All The Beautiful Things and Sarah from Run Jump Scrap for their new linky #throwbackthursday If you are a blogger – get involved!

I've always loved to travel so when my two daughters came along, I didn't stop. Travelling as a family can have its ups and downs but I love showing my children the world and helping others navigate travelling with children in tow.

  1. It’s so lovely to look back on old photos and sounds like you had a lovely first holiday away in the Alps together. You look so happy in this photo – your hubby has that “I’m trying to smile while getting the camera in the right position” expression! Lovely photo of you both though and a beautiful memory to look back on after ten years ๐Ÿ™‚ #throwbackthursday

    1. Haha! You are spot on Louise, he was trying to manoeuvre the camera to fit us in – he did a pretty good job but was left with a furrowed brow. I can’t believe it’s ten years! Xx
